Don Balbino’s family has owned a select vineyard of 40 hectares in the municipality of Lapuebla de Labarca and Laguardia, in the heart of the D.O. Rioja, since the end of the 18th century.
Originally, the winery used carbonic maceration and marketed crianzas (vintage), reservas (reserve) and gran reservas (grand reserve).
Currently the fourth generation is taking over with a new project; preserving the tradition of carbonic maceration for young wine and contributing new concepts such as barrel-fermented white wine, rosé wine and signature wines.
They market several brands, including Puentegrijos, El Capricho de Sofía, Don Balbino white and red and Alto del Rincón.
