Established in 1969 as a family business, remodelled in 2000. Being a family business, Hnos. Frías del Val has been able to combine its traditional harvesting with their unique approach to winemaking. As a result of the hard work in the production of wines, the winery has received numerous awards in wine competitions such as the “X Concurso de Vinos con Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja” (X Rioja Qualified Denomination of Origin Wine Competition), Challenge du Vin International and in the National Mezquita de Oro de Córdoba. The winery is supplied by its own, controlled vineyards with vines that are over 100 years old. The vines are of the Tempranillo and Viura varieties and arranged using the goblet plantation system. Production uses the traditional formula of fermentation with whole grapes (Carbonic Maceration) in stainless steel tanks. The winery is also starting to introduce organic farming into its processes.
