Laguardia-Rioja Alavesa is one of the seven supra-municipal administrative areas that make up the Historical Territory of Alava in the Basque Country.

Laguardia-Rioja Alavesa is a unique enclave with an incomparable natural landscape and a historical and cultural heritage that few areas possess.

Between the Sierras de Cantabria and Toloño that stop the cold north winds and the river Ebro, there are 23 population centres, 320 km2 of extension dedicated almost exclusively to the monoculture of vineyards. For this, it has the best possible conditions: calcareous clay soils, an Atlantic-Mediterranean microclimate, southern orientation, small plots on hillsides and a winemaking history that dates back beyond the Roman occupation.

Bronze and Iron Age sites, dolmens, Celtiberian ponds, necropolis, stone wine presses and other remains tell us of a territory inhabited for thousands of years with complete dedication to the cultivation of the vine.

Centenary vineyards, mountain routes and between vineyards, protected biotope lagoons.

Towns carefully cared for by their inhabitants tell us of their splendour in the Modern Age.

Discover the region, its history and its people through its wines and vineyards. Enjoy the hidden pleasures with all five senses.
