Its urban nucleus is developed on both sides of a stream that runs through a deep valley. Numerous stately homes are scattered throughout the town centre, such as the 18th century Casa del Indiano and the Casa del Marqués de Solana. Its parish church is dedicated to Saint Andrew and was built between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.

The hermitage of Saint Torquatus and Saint Mary preserves remains of its primitive Romanesque construction in the apse.
